Simply SXM donates 12 tablets to students from MPC and Sundial School | SOUALIGA NEWSDAY

SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) – Twelve students from the Milton Peters College (MPC) in South Reward and Sundial School in Philipsburg couldn’t believe their luck, when they heard they were to receive a tablet for their schoolwork, according to a press statement from SVOBE.

The sudden move to distance learning due to Covid 19 has actually been challenging for many students, since quite a few students do not have a functioning computer at their disposal at home, the statement said.

“This very welcome donation of twelve tablets was made possible by a group of frequent visitors of St Maarten, who wanted to do something special for their beloved vacation location and raised funds through their Facebook group: Simply SXM.

“The twelve students expressed their gratitude for this generous donation also to Jolanda van der Wart, who assisted Simply SXM with the distribution of the devices. We all hope that the frequent visitors of Simply SXM will be able to enjoy a wonderful stay on our island soon,” the SVOBE statement concludes.
