St. Dominic High School Form 5 Students Complete Successful Shadow Week | SOUALIGA NEWSDAY

SINT MAARTEN (SOUTH REWARD) - St. Dominic High School proudly announces the successful completion of its annual Shadow Week program between September 29th to October 3rd, 2025, which provided Form 5 students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of local companies and organizations.

Throughout the week, students were placed in diverse industries such as finance, hospitality, healthcare, technology, and education. The experience allowed them to explore real-world career paths, develop professional skills, and gain a clearer understanding of workplace expectations.

The school’s Career Counselor and IB Programme Coordinator Mrs. Gisella Reijna-Hilliman emphasized the value of the initiative, stating: “Shadow Week helps bridge the gap between classroom learning and the real world. It allows our students to see how their studies translate into professional environments, develop confidence in their abilities, and build valuable networks that can support their future career goals.”

St. Dominic High School congratulates all participating students for their professionalism and enthusiasm throughout the week and extends sincere gratitude to the community partners who made this valuable learning experience possible. This year’s participating organizations included: Nature Foundation, MVG Technology, Windward Islands Bank, JW Marriott Resort and Spa, Collective Prevention Services (CPS), Nagico Insurances, Port St. Maarten, St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA), American University of the Caribbean (AUC), Student Support Services Division (SSSD), Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Angelic Touch, SXM Airways, MV Engineering and Construction, Loumi Administrative, Carib Care Clinic, St. Maarten Veterinary Clinic, Airport Towers, Pure Health, Antek, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School, and St. Joseph School.

A special thank you is also extended to all businesses, organizations, and government departments that registered as Shadow Week partners. The school values its strong collaboration with both the private and public sectors and looks forward to continuing these partnerships in the future.
