SINT MAARTEN (POND ISLAND) – TelEm Group’s Outside Plant (OSP) technicians and sub-contractors will be carrying out fiber maintenance works from the entrance to Guana Bay during the morning hours, Thursday (May 7, 2020). The works will cause interruptions to internet and fixed landline services along the Guana Bay Road and including residential properties in Hope Estate close by.
TelEm Group says the works will begin from 6:00 am in the morning and are scheduled to be completed by 1:00 pm on the same day, Thursday.
Acting Manager Outside Plant, Mr. Steve Simmons, says the works will not affec the entire length of Guana Bay Road. Specifically, the following roads will be affected: Slipper Limpel Road, Experimental Dr. Merite Shell Road, Imperial Shell Dr. Lucine Shell Road, Basket Welks Shell Dr. Bonnet Dr. Pica Shell Road and Plantain Dr.
Mr. Simmons says some of the maintenance works was carried out with an earlier splicing of a fiber cable earlier in the week without any disruption to customers, however to complete the job, some customers have be disconnected and reconnected once more.
Mr. Simmons says interruption to customers on the above-named roads will be intermittent while the works are ongoing and apologized on behalf of TelEm Group for any inconvenience that will be caused as a result of these works.
