SINT MAARTEN (GREAT BAY) - The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle in proud partnership with the Windward Islands Bank is excited to announce the launch of the annual Rotary-Windward Islands Bank Spelling Bee Competition, set to begin with preliminary rounds on Sunday, November 9th at The Paradise Event Hall.
This flagship educational event continues to foster literacy, academic excellence, and self-confidence among young learners.
This year, students aged 9–10 from seven local schools and five schools from Anguilla will compete for top honors in a spirited display of spelling mastery.
The Windward Islands Bank, as the main sponsor, reaffirms its commitment to youth empowerment and community development. The Rotary Club of Sint Maarten-Mid Isle extends heartfelt appreciation for the bank’s continued support.
As is tradition, the Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Ms. Melissa Gumbs has been invited to attend, and her presence is expected to inspire students, educators, and families alike.
Event Schedule:
Preliminaries: Sunday, November 9
Semi-Finals: Sunday, November 16 (Top 10 finalists)
Finals: Sunday, November 30 (Top 5 finalists)
All events will be held at The Paradise Event Hall. Families, friends, and the general public are encouraged to attend and cheer on the participants. A special prize will be awarded to the school with the most enthusiastic group of supporters. Snacks and drinks will be provided for students during breaks.
All participants will receive goody bags and certificates, while winners will be awarded additional prizes in recognition of their achievement.
