COLE BAY – UPDATE – The investigation into the death of the man found on well road on Tuesday September 3rd, 2019 has been closed officially, police announced on Thursday. After a short investigation carried out by the forensic and detective departments it became clear this was a suicide case. The body has been released to the family.
ARCHIVE – On Tuesday September 3rd, 2019 at 06.45 am the central dispatch received a call concerning a man lying on the ground on the Well road. According to the caller the victim was not showing any signs of life. The patrol from Simpson Bay was directed to well-road, police said in a statement.
At the scene the patrol encountered the body of an unknown man with wounds on his upper body. He was lying face up, behind one of the power houses of G.E.B.E on the Well road.
The personnel from the ambulance service and the detectives were immediately dispatched to the location. The doctor, who arrived later on the scene pronounced the death of the victim.
Up to press time the cause of death of the victim was not clear. The identity of the victim is known to the police however will not be released at this time. The investigation is ongoing. (Sint Maarten Police Force)
