SINT MAARTEN (POND ISLAND) - The University of St. Martin (USM) is accepting applications for its General Educational Development (GED) Program for the Fall 2026 semester. Morning and evening classes will begin on Monday, August 24, 2026.
The program offers individuals who did not complete high school another opportunity to earn a recognized secondary-level credential and move forward with their educational and professional goals. Participants may be seeking better employment opportunities, access to higher education or the achievement of a long-held personal goal.
Recognizing that many GED students balance employment, family responsibilities and other commitments, USM offers both morning and evening classes. Applicants may select the option that best fits their schedule.
Students receive instruction and guidance in the four GED subject areas: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning Through Language Arts (English), Science and Social Studies. Throughout the program, they strengthen their academic knowledge, build confidence and develop the skills needed to prepare for the official GED examinations.
Returning to school can feel challenging, particularly after spending time away from the classroom. USM instructors support participants throughout the learning process and help them work toward successfully completing each subject.
The GED can also serve as a pathway to further education. After earning the credential and meeting the applicable admission requirements, graduates may explore degree programs and other educational opportunities at USM or elsewhere.
Individuals interested in joining the Fall 2026 GED cohort are encouraged to complete the required admission steps by August 12, 2026. Classes will be held at the USM campus.
