Besides being just a walk, the event encouraged participants to stay active while enjoying the island’s surroundings and connecting with others along the route. Fruit stations were placed at designated points to help participants refuel, while water stations allowed them to refill their reusable water bottles. The refill stations supported WIB’s efforts to promote more sustainable choices while encouraging participants to do the same.

WIB employees were actively involved throughout the event, assisting with registration, coordination, and participant support. The St. Maarten Red Cross also provided assistance to help ensure the safety of all participants throughout the walk.

After completing the walk, participants returned to the Bush Road Digital Branch for breakfast and an opportunity to relax, connect, and celebrate the morning’s accomplishment.

Originally scheduled for August 30, the Walk-a-Thon was postponed due to adverse weather conditions and rescheduled for September 27. The successfully rescheduled event reflected the enthusiasm and continued support of participants, employees, partners, and members of the community.

Through initiatives such as this, the Bank continues to encourage healthy lifestyles, environmental responsibility, and meaningful community engagement.

WIB extends sincere appreciation to everyone who participated in, supported, and contributed to the successful execution of the Walk-a-Thon.
