William: Leaders should lead by example

SINT MAARTEN (PHILIPSBURG) – Before taking the COVID-19 vaccine at the Belair Community Center on Wednesday morning, faction leader of the National Alliance (NA), Member of Parliament (MP) William Marlin said that our leaders should lead by example.

He wanted the public at large to know, that because he believes the vaccine is safe and necessary, he and his wife Gabrielle have taken the shot in the arm.

After taking the vaccine and waiting to see if there would be any reactions for like 20 minutes, MP Marlin told reporters, that the injection in his right arm was painless, he said. Taking the vaccine was definitely more comfortable than taking the COVID-19 test twice.

MP Marlin said that many of his contacts has responded to register for the vaccine. Several of them told him, you go ahead, I won’t be taking it, at the least, not now. For this reason, I want my family and friends to know that we have taken the test and are feeling quite fine. I decided to follow the science on this and lead by example.

There are too many videos circulating with conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and now about the vaccine.

William and Gabrielle Marlin are scheduled for their second shot on March 31 at 11.30am. MP Marlin said, that if all the residents of Sint Maarten would take the vaccine, the sooner we can tell the world that we are not only open for business, but that we are also a truly safe destination to visit and spend a wonderful vacation.
