Repeat Broadcast November 8
St. Maarten – Approximately 90 leaders converged at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino recently to further enhance their leadership skills in order to make a greater impact in our community. Despite the technical challenges encountered during the simulcast, the overall sentiment from the attendees was that the event was “awesome,” “worthwhile attending,” and “life transforming.”
The Ministry of Education had the largest contingent of persons in attendance, headed by Minister Rita Bourne-Gumbs. This was the first hosting of Live 2 Lead on St. Martin, a half day leader development experience designed to equip leaders from all walks of life with new perspectives, practical tools and key takeaways to take their leadership and vision to a higher dimension. Victorious Living Foundation has been hosting live leadership simulcasts since 2013 and Minister Bourne-Gumbs was commended for being the first Minister to participate.
Live 2 Lead is designed by the internationally renowned leadership expert John C. Maxwell who in 2014 was identified as the #1 leader in business by the American Management Association® and the most influential leadership expert in the world by Business Insider and Inc. magazines.
The event will be re-broadcast at the Philipsburg Cultural Center on November 8 to allow more leaders from both North and South of the island to benefit from its powerful content. The Minister of Education has agreed to include Live 2 Lead as part of the pre-St. Martin Day celebration schedule.
During the recently held event, local leaders were given the opportunity to voice their opinions regarding the state of our nation. The emotions ran high as persons shared their concern for the state of our government, youth, education, families and communities. The visionary of Victorious Living Foundation, Dr. Erna Mae Francis-Cotton, challenged the attendees “to take positive action to transform our nation as we continue to build our leadership capacity.” The participants all agreed to rise to the challenge.
Registration is open now for the Live 2 Lead re-broadcast scheduled for November 8 at the Cultural Center from 4.30 to 9 p.m. Local leaders will have the opportunity to network and exchange ideas on how we can practically transform the state of affairs on St. Martin. Registration closes on November 5.
Participants receive certificates of participation from John Maxwell’s Company. Autographed copies of John Maxwell’s latest book, Intentional Living will also be available for sale at the event. Speakers include Patrick Lencioni who states: “Too many leaders are limiting their focus to areas like marketing, strategy, and technology.”
He will be addressing the model in his latest book, The Advantage. Lencioni asserts that leaders and organizations need to shift their focus to creating a healthy organization with minimal politics and confusion, high degrees of morale and productivity, and low turnover among good people.”
