Still Curacao North Sea Jazz in 2017, There will still be an edition of Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival in 2017. Fundashon Bon Intenshon, Curaçao Tourism Development Foundation, Curaçao Airport Holding, and Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency have reached an agreement. Because of a financial contribution from the local stakeholders, the festival will also be preserved for Curaçao for the following years.
After the event had been canceled last month, the CTDF came into action at the request of the Minister of Economic Development mr. Rhuggenaath. After all, the festival generates millions for the island, but the costs and financial risks for Fundashon Bon Intenshon were tremendous. In a very short time, the parties have reached an agreement and thus assured the continuity of the festival until at least 2022.
Last month, after it had become apparent that the intended main artists were not on tour during the festival period, Fundashon Bon Intenshon and Mojo Concerts decided to skip a year. Since it has now been decided to have the festival take place, the organization will make every effort in the coming months to still get some big names for the upcoming edition.
