PHILIPSBURG:--- Businessman Alex Dijkhoffz and Sharon Filico appeared before the court for the first instance on Friday where both suspects received 8 days of pretrial detention as detectives continue the investigation in the Mitte case. The Mitte investigation has to do with the clean-up and repair works conducted at the Princess Juliana International Airport post-hurricane Irma in 2017.
On Wednesday evening the RST and TBO arrested Alex Dijkhoffz, Sharon Filico, and Nicole Halley. Halley was released on Thursday afternoon while Dijkhoffz and Filico appeared in court on Friday afternoon.
