A l’occasion de ce 21 juillet 2022, jour de la fête de Schoelcher mais également jour de la Fête de Grand-Case, je voudrais revenir sur deux points :

Moi, descendant d’esclaves, je pourrai trouver des raisons de ne pas célébrer Schoelcher aujourd’hui. Je pourrai faire de nombreux reproches à ses démarches même s’il m’a a été dit qu’elles étaient en faveur de l’abolition de l’esclavage. Il faut se rendre à l’évidence et admettre que beaucoup d’écrits aujourd’hui contredisent le rôle de Victor Schoelcher dans son combat pour la libération de l’homme noir.
