Emmanuel pleaded with Government to pay contractor.

~ Breach of Judicial System is a serious concern~.

PHILIPSBURG:— MP Christopher Emmanuel issued an emotional call to the Interim Ministers of Finance, VSA and VROMI to pay a contractor that repaired a bridge in Sucker Garden when he was in office.
Emmanuel said the contractor is currently hospitalized and he is currently laying the corridor at SMMC due to leaks. He said the relatives of the contractor wants to fly him overseas for further medical treatment but they need their money that is owed to him.
Besides that Emmanuel went on the hammer the judicial system on St. Maarten. He said that a serious breach was committed by a sitting judge, prosecutors and the TBO team. He said he is quite sure that a photograph of him is in the Prosecutor’s Office and the prosecutors are probably throwing darts at his photograph. Emmanuel called on the Minister of Justice to tell Parliament more because what is taking place at the Court of First Instance is a serious breach in the judicial system. The former Minister even called on the lawyers that protested the gathering to do what is necessary to get the judge out of St. Maarten and to also ensure that the judge recuses himself from cases that are being investigated by the TBO team.
Emmanuel also indicated that he will vote in favor of the 2018 budget because at least 80% of the budget was prepared by former Minister of Finance Richard Gibson Sr. He said that if the current Minister of Finance could fully guarantee him that civil servants will not face any cuts then he will support the 2018.
