MP Matser convicted to 22 months, 18 months suspended.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The company Energizer NV was sentenced today by the Court of Appeal in Philipsburg to a fine of 3.4953 million guilders. The charge of tax evasion was also confirmed in this case by the higher Court. Energizer NV was sentenced by the first court to a fine of 4.5 million guilders.
In this same case the man Silvio Jan Matser (1966) was sentenced by the Court to imprisonment for the period of 22 months of which 18 months suspended, and probation for three years. He was also sentenced on Thursday in Philipsburg to pay a fine of 150,000 guilders.
The Court considers it proven that Mr. Matser is guilty to repeatedly ordered to deliberate make false and wrongly declarations and incorrect filing of tax declarations on his business turnover.
The Public Prosecutor's Office is very satisfied with today's verdict.
