says Williams Brooks was not screened by VDSM and it’s mandatory by law.

PHILIPSBURG:— The Supervisory Board of Directors namely Rene Richardson and Ed Gumbs is taking the government of St. Maarten to court this (Thursday) afternoon at 3pm to get the court to block the appointment of Williams Brooks as CEO of the company since the screening that has to be conducted by VDSM is not yet completed. The meeting to appoint William Brooks as CEO of GEBE is scheduled to take place on Friday May 20th 2016.

  1. How many other candidates were evaluated? Why do we always cut ourselves short, instead of finding the best person for the job?

    • It’s been the customary thing to do for the old-guard politicians: these politicians are the ones that will be recycled out for good come September!

      We want open & transparent appointments! Appointments based on MERIT not how close you are with the Minister or how well you take their instructions!

      If SXM wants to go anywhere, let’s take the politics out of these appointments!!!
