PHILIPSBURG:— Last week the board of the St. Maarten Tourism Authority (STA) issued a press release stating that the selected candidate for the position Rolando Brison did not score the highest in all three rounds of the selection process. The release which carries the headline that the Minister of TEATT did not follow the advice given to her and that Rolando Brison did not score the highest in the selection process. (http://www.smn-news.com/st-maarten-st-martin-news/23914-sta-board-says-minister-of-teatt-did-not-follow-advice-and-brison-did-not-score-the-highest.html?
While SMN News also wrote some articles highlight some of the things Roland Brison was accused of and also questioned his appointment regarding background checks, one thing that is clear is that some members of the STA board have ulterior motives and something against young St. Maartener’s when they put together the press release that was issued on October 20th, 2016.
Besides that, some newspapers chose to twist the press release and he called the Minister of TEATT Ingrid Arrindell a liar. One has to question since when reporters and or newspapers can pass judgment without searching for the facts.
In order for SMN News to deduce the facts, we went looking for the score sheet and the motivation given by the members of the STA board.
It is clear that now that election is over, and the Minister of TEATT in her farewell speech two weeks ago said she was going to seek all legal avenues to appoint the STA director who already obtained a letter of intent from her, when Brison was informed that he was the selected candidate, some STA board members chose to derail if not belittle the outgoing Minister by issuing a press release with non-factual information. For the sake of clarity and transparency the score sheet and the motivation given by the board members can be viewed below this article.

EXCLUSIVE: Records show that STA board members lied in their press release regarding the selected candidate for the STA director.
Love it this is sxm’s version of “Wikileaks” should we call it “sxmleaks”.
Guess who leaked the information to BIBI?
I recommend that the process should be voided and re-started again. The STA needs a person that is good at marketing, has good organizational skills and that has a good reputation. Until they do not find that candidate, keep searching please!
This is the direct quote from the press release “NOT ALL”. I recommend to Bibi to please read carefully before shooting from the hip. What is the ulterior motive that she alleges?
“that not all six members of the selection committee independently scored Brison highest, as has been reported in the press releases.”
This is plain and simple Brison did a very good interview and presentation but he failed miserably on the reference check when former employers and business that had dealings with him gave negative references. Like in any business hire the interview is just one part of the final decision.
Bibi confused again like usual.
If you download the score sheet, you can clearly see that one of the board members scored Brison as # 3.
That is correct so the press release is actually accurate that not ALL gave Bryson the highest score on the presentation. So the board did not lied as the article accuses board of saying.
Link to the score sheet does not work?
