PHILIPSBURG:--- The Joint Court of Justice on December 7, 2016 sentenced former police officer R.M.P.Y to 6 years in jail for manslaughter and illegal firearm possession. This was according to the jail sentence asked by the Solicitor-General during the criminal proceedings in the Court of Appeal three weeks ago. The Court of First Instance had sentenced Y. to 8 years imprisonment for the shooting and killing of H.K.I. on March 4, 2015.
