Il est 02h05 du matin quand le CROSS-AG appelle le régulateur de la SNSM de St. Martin. Un bateau serait en train de couler au large de la Baie de Marigot avec une soixantaine (!!!) de migrants à bord.
Ce sont les migrants eux mêmes qui ont alertés les secours; en appelant le SAMU avec leur portable; qui relaie l’appel au CROSS car il s’agit d’une urgence en mer.
Soixante personnes à récupérer; ça en fait du monde; donc la SNSM de St. Martin decide de sortir avec 2 équipes sur leur 2 moyens nautiques.
