Le Galion:— The K1 Britannia Foundation took part in SXM Doet by hosting a foster fun day at le Galion beach for approximately 30+ foster kids of I Can, Hope Outreach and New Start Foundation.
Eight youth brigade of St. Maarten members came early in the morning and were instrumental in setting up the games and being marshals for the games. Along with these 8, 25 volunteers came to spend the day with the kids. A special mention to Philipsburg Broadcasting for signing up a second time and having 7 volunteers come out on Saturday. The day consisted of games such as limbo, beach bowling, soccer, 3 legged race and tug of war among having a kid’s pool for younger kids to play in.
After playing the games, lunch was provided for all by Pineapple’s Pete’s and Domino’s Pizza. After lunch, the kids were allowed to enjoy time in the sea and they took full advantage of it. Kids were seen floating in the water, playing catch with volunteers, digging their selves in the sand and playing volleyball. The day was enjoyable for both volunteers and kids and that is what SXM DOET is all about. K1 Britannia Foundation would like to say thank you to everyone who came out and all who made the day possible.
