PHILIPSBURG :— SXM Reads Platform has re-open it’s Literacy Help Desk for persons who needs assistance with literacy and language problems.
The literacy helpdesk will be open from 5pm to 8pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and on Saturdays from 10 am to 1pm.
Our trusted volunteers are available to inform and assist persons who are in need of assistance in matters such as filling out forms, understanding complex documents and other language problems. We provide community information, such as how to reach health care and social workers, government services, and other social organizations and support group.
The Literacy Help Desk was officially opened on January 28th of this year and is part of a program that is mainly executed in collaboration under “SXM Reads” Library partners, UNESCO, COME Center and Rotary Club St. Martin Sunrise in order to ensure a wider community inclusion and to encourage the community at large to become more knowledgeable in the reading arena. The helpdesk was financed by SMDF and “Be the change”.
