PHILIPSBURG:--- In connection with large amount of arrests for the illegal possession of drugs which have taking place during the events held at the Festival Village for Carnival 2016, the Police Department in collaboration with the Public Prosecutors Office and the Customs Department will be carrying out random searches with drug sniffing dogs.
These searches will include area in and around the complex and at the entrance and exits of the Festival Village. Anyone caught in the possession of any illegal drug will immediately be arrested and the drugs confiscated. The suspect will be taken to the Police Head quarters in Philipsburg for further processing.
The entire community is advised to take very good notice of this information.
