PHILIPSBURG:— On Thursday July 21st Prosecutor Karola van Nie visited Chief Commissioner Carl John at the Police Head Quarters in Philipsburg where she said goodbye to him and the KPSM, after working several years as prosecutor on Sint Maarten. Mrs. Van Nie has successfully handled many high profile cases while on Sint Maarten and has been very instrumental in the setting up of the Miss Lalie Center in Cape Bay, which is a one of a kind youth detention center in the region. Prosecutor van Nie will be definitely be missed as she returns to her homeland in the month of August. During her visit Mrs. Van Nie presented the Chief Commissioner with a book entitled “Geschiedenis van de politie” which gladly accepted and expressed his gratitude for the great working relationship that was experienced between her and the members of the KPSM. He wished her much success in her future endeavors and look forward in working with her in the future.
