Prosecutor’s Office filed appeal against decision of Judge of Instruction.

The Prosecutor’s Office has appealed the decision of the Judge of Instruction to suspend the pre-trial detention of M.G.C.N on August 15. He was arrested on Friday, August 5 for illegal firearm and drug possession. The other suspect in the investigation, T.O.N. suspected of a threat with a firearm was, remanded to custody for eight (8) days.

The Police Force of St. Maarten KPSM together with the Kingdom Detective Cooperation Team RST and the Royal Dutch Marechaussee led by the prosecutor’s Office and in the presence of a Judge of Instruction held a search on an address on Backstreet. During the search drugs, information carriers, drugs, large amounts of money and three expensive watches as well as a luxurious car were found and confiscated. The car was confiscated based on suspicions of money laundering.
