PHILIPSBURG:— In connection with the Jouvert Jump-up for 2018 which is scheduled for Friday April 27th at 04.00 a.m. the police are making the following announcement. The lining-up of the bands, Dj’s and other vehicles taken part the Jouvert will line up on the ring round. In order for this to take place as safe as possible the following traffic measures will be taken place. As of 02.00 a.m. the Walter Nisbet road will be closed between Tamarinde steeg (Yellow Building alley) and the Salt Pickers round about. No motor vehicle traffic will be allowed in either direction. All streets and alleys connected to that stretch of road will also be closed. After the last vehicle in the jump-up has passed the Salt Pickers round about the street will be reopened to all traffic.
All drivers should take keen note of this information to avoid any unnecessary inconvenience. Drivers should also use alternative routes to get to and from their destination.
