The Foundation is extending an open invitation to members of the public to attend the free educational and inspirational event. “We would be grateful for the community of St. Maarten to join us for this event in which we will give thanks, honour our mothers, learn something new and learn about the compassionate spirit of Tzu Chi and its work in St. Maarten and around the world,” Tzu Chi Commissioner Sandra Cheung said. “We will end the event by focusing on our bodies and enjoy healthy vegetarian treats together.”

One highlight of the program will be the sharing of useful information about the use of natural and locally made Enzymes which is an effective method to eliminate mosquitoes as well as use as a chemical free cleaning agent for all surfaces.

A Tzu Chi volunteer will enlighten attendees as to how Tzu Chi makes the Enzymes using natural everyday products and how it can be used to get rid of the irritating mosquito problem affecting your surroundings. At the end of the programme, guests will each receive their own bottle of enzyme to try out, compliments of Tzu Chi.

The event will also feature a special tribute to mothers through, amongst other things, a foot bath for mothers.

The strides Tzu Chi has made locally and internationally will also be shared with attendees. A congratulatory message from United States President Barack Obama will also be shared. This is the 50th year that Tzu Chi Foundation has been touching lives around the world.

Another feature of the program will be a ceremonial one to give thanks. There will also be several other activities at the event, which will wrap up with guests enjoying free vegetarian delicacies and drinks compliments of Tzu Chi volunteers.

This ceremony is open to the general public and people of all faiths, who are urged to attend.

If possible, guests are encouraged to wear something white to the celebrations.
