Pond Island:—- In partial fulfillment of the requirements of their BTEC accredited Associate of Arts degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management, USM’s Hospitality Management students took the internationally recognized AHLEI Certified Guest Service Professional exam. At the pinning ceremony, the students received their certificates and pins from Mr. Ed Kastli, Vice President International Sales of the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) and Dr. Francio Guadeloupe, President of the University of St. Martin (USM).
Mr. Erwin Wolthuis, Head of the Hospitality division, said that “this was again a great example of what the completely new, fully accredited hospitality program at USM stands for. In our present BTEC accredited program, the focus is on truly preparing the students for a career in the hospitality industry”. This AHLEI certificate provides our students with the professional recognition that they know how to achieve and express exceptional service.
