St. Maarten News – The Heineken Regatta parties always bring out the crowds, and the 36thedition will be no different. With an incredible line up each night and Akon closing off the entire weekend, only one thing could make it better, the organization said in a press release: “The Captain. The official Captain Morgan will be attending the event and along with the Morganettes, he has a fun packed weekend in store for party goers. The weekend will be filled with games and contests which will certainly be over the top and full of fun.”
For the sixth year in a row, Captain Morgan is the regatta’s official rum. The last time the official Captain Morgan was in St. Maarten was back in 2012. His smooth pirate charm was a hit with the regatta ladies and the lines to take pictures with him lasted throughout the evening. 2016 should be no different, he will be in attendance each evening and, with the Morganettes, will be playing a variety of games with fantastic prizes.
“Regatta party goers will be encouraged to bring out their inner Captain Morgan through a variety of tests of both strength and wits. With the Dice of Destiny, guests will have a chance to win free Captain Morgan goodies. In addition, each night there will be a chance to win a VIP pass to Sunday’s concert on the beach. Winners will be able to enjoy the entire evening’s events from the cool VIP viewing deck. There is an open bar and air-conditioned bathrooms, making it the coveted place to be on the beach>” the organization stated.
There will be a unique bar in which specialty cocktails will be mixed and signature glasses are available. “The ultimate stop in your regatta souvenir hunt,” according to the organization. “You can enjoy the fun spirit of Captain Morgan in the days leading up to the regatta as there are a selection of bars throughout Simpson Bay that are offering Captain Morgan happy hours.”
To complete the weekend, Captain Morgan will be on stage during prize giving to hand out the trophy for the Most Rumworthy Performance. The regatta begins next week Thursday and continues through the weekend, with the final night taking place on Monday March 6.
