The journalism course began in August of last year and took sixteen weeks. The six participants received a scholarship for the course. Brown taught them the key principles and theories of journalism, media and reporting.

The scholarship was established with a Memorandum of Understanding signed by five parties: the University of St. Martin (under President Francio Guadeloupe), Bureau Telecommunication and Post (director Anthony Carty), the Biz Center of the Chamber of Commerce (Giselle York), the Chamber of Commerce (director Claret Connor) and Member of Parliament Tamara Leonard.
