St. Maarten News- The relatives and other close family members of the late Anselmo ‘Selmo’ Boasman will have alot to remember after the lengthy program that took place last Saturday as hundreds gathered to pay their last respects.

The ceremony began with a private viewing at the Royal Funeral Home before his earthly remains was escorted to the Police Headquarters where the tradition to place a framed photo of the fallen officer was placed on a wall in the presence of close family members.

The next stop of the long motorcade was the Fire Station in Cay Hill for a short ceremony and that give his colleagues an opportunity to honor him. The procession then made its way back into Philipsburg for the Roman Catholic Church for a public viewing where top officials had an opportunity to address those at the gathering.

The final journey for Boasman was more symbolic than the others, this time the Honor Guards were assembled along the route to the Crematorium for the final march by the members of the various uniformed ranks.

During the final stages of the ceremony, three shots were fired, but when the moment of truth finally arrived, his earthly remains was placed in the special oven where it was later cremated.
