GREAT BAY—The Police Department is an incident where someone threw a ball at an Amerijet aircraft that was landing at the Princes Juliana International Airport (PJIA) recently.
The case is known as the “Ball thrower”. “It is via social media that KPSM became aware of photographic images place on this site, where it is very clear to see when an unknown person, while bathing at the beach, threw an object which looks like a red or dark ball at an aircraft which was about to land at Princess Juliana International Airport. KPSM is investigating this extremely dangerous act and is asking the public for any information that can lead to the identity of the person seen on these pictures. Anyone who has information can contact the detective department at 54-22222 ext. 208/211/ 175 or the anonymous tip line #9300,” the police said.
This incident comes just mere days after a New Zealand tourist was killed after being flung onto a concrete road divider on the neighboring Beacon Hill road after losing her grip from the airport runaway fence that thrill seekers hang on to when surfing jet blasts of departing planes. The latter incident has promoted the authorities to look at re-routing the Beacon Hill road and placing the runway fence close to the beach to protect thrill seekers from getting hurt when jet blast surfing.
