St. Maarten Police announces intensified controls

St. Maarten News – The multidisciplinary team controlled 150 cars on Sunday between 12 noon and 4 p.m. at several locations on the Dutch side of the island. The officers issues 52 fines and towed 15 cars because of traffic violations.

The multidisciplinary team consists of officers from the Customs and the police department. Sunday’s controls focused on firearms, drugs, stolen cars and proper paperwork.

The police announced yesterday that these controls will intensify and advises motorists to make sure that the paperwork for their car is up to date and that they carry a valid driver’s license.
