St. Maarten News – The Charlotte Brookson Academy of the Performance Arts says that thirteen of its students have been accepted into summer intensive programs in the United States.
Niyanca Vlaun will attend the two-week summer intensive program at the SFD Fashion Academy in Boston. The program combines fashion art – with a focus on illustration skills – and fashion design – the practical application of pattern and sewing techniques.
Sara-Victoria Martinez and Jeremiah David have been awarded scholarships by the Center for Creative Youth, to attend a four-week summer intensive program at the Wesleyan University Campus in Connecticut. Sara-Victoria Martinez was awarded a full scholarship for photography and Jeremiah David for dance. This year CCY celebrates its 40th anniversary. The scholarships opportunities were made possible by Kim Stroud, Director of the Arts, Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and Program Director of CCY, and by Lisa Floss, CCY Program Coordinator.
