St.maarten – The central committee of parliament supported yesterday the initiative draft ordinance that regulates the time share industry and the ordinance to establish the timeshare authority.
First introduced by former DP-MP Leroy de Weever, DP-MP Sarah Wescot-Williams completed the process to make the legislation ready for handling in parliament.
Committee members did not have any questions about the draft.
Wescot-Williams said in a brief introduction that the draft ordinance offers access to a practical resolution of timeshare issues through the Timeshare authority. The legislation also includes bankruptcy protection for all types of timeshare and checks and balances for the operation of timeshare properties.
