PHILIPSBURG–Collective Prevention Services (CPS) says its Vaccination Open House for children 0-17 years of age at Vineyard Office Park in Philipsburg last week Saturday was a huge success.
The Open House helped 115 youngsters who visited with their parents/guardians; 15 were between 0 and 3; and 100 were 4-17 years. In addition to a temporary playground to keep them entertained while they waited for their turn, a presentation on the topic of puberty was held from 10:00am to 1:30pm.
The attention is now on preparing for the second Open House, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 10. The presentation at this Open House will be “Oral Health, Puberty, and Reproductive Health.”
Vaccines help one’s immune system fight more than 20 dangerous diseases. From the time one is born, vaccines offer protection to help the individual stay healthy throughout his or her entire lives.
CPS, a department of the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour VSA, held its Open House under the banner of Vaccination Week of the Americas 2017.
Those who need additional information about the Open House may call CPS at 542-2078 or 542-3003.
