PHILIPSBURG–Police Special Robbery Unit has started investigating armed robberies that took place at two supermarkets on Union Road between 10:30 and 11:00am Tuesday. Two men armed with guns arrived on scooter and stormed into each establishment, threatening the cashier with their guns, stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the register and then fleeing on the scooter. The police are asking anyone who saw what took place or has information that can lead to the arrest of these suspects to immediately get in contact with the Police Force by calling 542-2222 ext. 213/214, the anonymous tip line 9300 or the emergency line 911.
