At the Pre-USM graduation, Edridge Parisien was the top student from amongst the gradating group. Parisien amassed an overall average score of 94 per cent.
Pre-USM is a 10-month college preparatory programme which allows students from the vocational branch of secondary school to acquire the necessary skills, concepts and experiences to be admitted into a degree programme at USM, or to be prepared for college placement test elsewhere.
The Pre-USM programme offers a blend of courses in mathematics, natural science and social science, and linguistics needed to sharpen the communication and critical thinking skills needed to follow programmes at the tertiary education level. Students will earn their GED in addition to nine skills courses including algebra, life science, English and much more. Tutoring and one-on-one with teachers are available, as well as counselling. Morning and evening programmes run concurrently.
The next start date for the programme is August 21. Persons can still apply for this semester; however, late charges may apply. Application is open for the Fall 2018 semester.
