AIRPORT–Police announced on Wednesday that the Alpha Team had arrested a man J.D.D. (71) from the United States on June 18 in connection with a theft from a backpack belonging to an airport staff member. This theft took place at the check-in area at Princess Juliana Airport.
“The backpack belonging to the member of the airport staff was left unattended, in close proximity to them, while they carried out their work duties. The suspect saw the bag and used that opportunity to snatch the backpack and attempt to flee the area. The Alpha team was able to quickly locate the suspect and place him under arrest for further questioning; the backpack was returned to the staff member,” according to police.
