PHILIPSBURG–Approximately 650 persons attended the two-day job fair hosted by Rockland Estate on Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1.
The Job Fair was held to fill positions in all departments and was open to individuals looking for new career opportunities. Representatives of the Park’s Human Resources Department were on hand to meet with candidates.
The Job Fair was held on site in the building that will be the Wild Life Trading Gift Shop. Laser 101.1 radio personality Gary “Gee Money” Euton did a live broadcast from the Job Fair on Saturday from 10:00am to 12:00pm.
“We’re currently reviewing all the applications received, and conducting second interviews with select candidates,” officials said. “We were extremely pleased with the volume of attendance over the two days and right now think that it was sufficient to begin securing the core personnel. Once we’re done with this process we’ll determine if another job fair is required.”
Rockland Estate will be employing both full-time positions and part-time hourly positions. Sue and Norman Wathey, proprietors of Rockland Estate’s Emilio’s Restaurant and the Wild Life Trading (the gift shop) were also in attendance and will be evaluating their applications accordingly to do the necessary follow up interviews.
Human Resources personnel will be in contact with the selected candidates for park positions.
Persons who still wish to apply, but were unable to attend the Job Fair are still welcome to submit their applications and are also asked to bring a copy of their identification.
“The event was successful and we were very pleased with the overwhelming attendance and meeting candidates excited about becoming part of this new St. Maarten experience,” Property Logistics, Sales and Marketing Manager, Rockland Estate Julie Zambrini told The Daily Herald.
