ST. PETERS–Two cars got into a bad accident on L.B. Scott Road near Dollar Store close to 10:00am Wednesday. Reports suggest that a Hyundai I10 was coming from the roundabout towards St. Peters and slammed into an oncoming SUV.
The driver of the SUV was knocked unconscious as a result of the hit. Bystanders called police, but no patrol came to the scene for immediate assistance. The ambulance workers arrived on the scene shortly after the calls were made and tried to assist the driver, but traffic needed to be controlled. Oncoming traffic continued as though no accident had taken place and hampered the environment of the accident.
One regular police patrol eventually arrived and the Fire Department was called in to help the police control traffic and allow Ambulance officials to assist the unconscious man. The driver of the Hyundai I10 was seen speaking to officers after the incident.
The man regained consciousness and was transported to the St. Maarten Medical Center for further treatment.
The Police Traffic Department arrived one hour later and started an investigation.
