MARIGOT–Tuesday’s adult parade in Marigot was another colourful and vibrant spectacle enjoyed by scores of spectators lining the streets of the parade route.
With eight troupes participating, the procession started from the Agrément roundabout as usual, proceeding along Rue de Hollande, Rue de La République, Rue de la Liberté, Rue Kennedy, Rue Lowtown, Bellevue, and returning along Rue de Hollande to finish on the waterfront.
The troupes, in order of appearance, were Amicale Bacchanal, Survivors, Happy Crew, Gems of India, Soualiwomen Kultural Association, Association Dominicanos, Hot ’N Spicy and Bacchanal Storm. Choreography routines were judged as usual on Rue de la République.
The most impressive performances of the parade came from the Hot ’N Spicy troupe and Bacchanal Storm.
Motorworld cars handed out SXM Strong T-shirts at intervals along the parade route.
An occasional dark cloud overhead threatened rain, but fortunately the parade remained dry. There was a tense moment when one of the big trucks got stuck temporarily making the turn into Rue de la Liberté, but with a little manoeuvring it managed to make it.
The Last Lap parade is today, Wednesday, followed by the Black and White Show on the waterfront and the burning of Moumou Irma.
