ANGUILLA–A man wanted in St. Kitts for attempted murder and armed robbery was successfully located in Anguilla by officers of the Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF).
Police here received a request for assistance from the St. Kitts and Nevis police in locating a wanted individual. A team of officers from the RAPF Criminal Investigation Department went to the location on November 12 and apprehended the accused. With the assistance of the Immigration Department the accused was served with a removal order and deported back to St. Kitts, escorted by officers from the St. Kitts Force, to stand trial.
In commenting on the apprehension of this wanted person, Commissioner of Police Paul Morrison said, “It is very important the relationships we have developed with our regional partners over the past few years are upheld. We are aware that criminals often exploit national boundaries in their endeavours to commit or evade serious crimes or justice. This is a positive example of local and cross border networking, to capture perpetrators of serious crimes, so that they can be brought to justice for illegal acts.”
