ANGUILLA–The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) reports that on Saturday, September 1, around 12:00 noon, members of the Force seized a white and black boat along with three bales of cocaine from the waters off Lockrum Beach. They also recovered a partially damaged grey rubber dinghy.
The boat, dinghy and drugs were transported to The Valley Police Station where the drugs were tested, weighed, sealed and tagged. They were later handed over to representatives of the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for further testing and analysis.
As the Police continue investigation into this discovery they are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area of Lockrum Beach, and may have witnessed anything surrounding this boat and drugs or have any information regarding it to contact the Valley Police Station with such information. The telephone number is 497-2333 and they should ask for the Criminal Investigation Department or speak to any Police Officer of their choice.
