PHILIPSBURG–St. Maarten residents can now mark their calendar and save the date for a night of rib-tickling laughter and comic relief at the 14th edition of the Laugh Till Belly Burst (LTBB) Comedy Show.
This year’s LTBB will be held under a new pavilion at Princess Port de Plaisance and Casino (PDP) on June 22 and 23. For the first time performing in the country, the show will be hosted by two Caribbean senior citizens: Eve (Samantha Cate) from Anguilla and “Granny” from Trinidad and Tobago. There will be a constant verbal feud between the two old ladies during the entire show about their culture, their country, their cooking and “why Eve stole Granny’s man” from her some 50 years ago. The boiling blood between the two is expected to come to a head at the show.
Also on the line up for the show are comedians Slim from London, renowned funny duo Bello and Blakka from Jamaica; Crystal Ferrier from India and Allan the Entertainer from Trinidad and Tobago.
Coordinators said for the first time the show will feature a comedian from India and they are hoping that the Indian community and the St. Maarten public in general come out in large numbers for some comic relief after all the devastation that the country has gone through last year and is still recovering from. Allan the Entertainer, coordinators said, is a new comedian from the twin island republic of TT and is expected to be a big hit along with the other comedians.
Eve and Granny are expected to set the stage for two nights of laughter as emcees for the show, with their own humorous sides and long-standing feud.
Tickets for the show will go on sale during Carnival. Fans should look for the specials being offered by United Telecommunications Service (UTS) Chippie booth in the Carnival Village and get a great package with their ticket purchase.
