Anguillian Rotarian becomes Assistant District Governor | THE DAILY HERALD

ANGUILLA–At the Rotary Club of Anguilla Installation Ceremony on Saturday, June 20, Rotarian Seymour Hodge became the first Anguillian to be inaugurated as the Assistant District Governor for District 7020. He has been a Rotarian for fourteen years and held several positions including Senior Adviser, President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Club. Outgoing Assistant District Governor Marcellia Henry handed over the position to Hodge.

The event saw a farewell to President Jeritza Samuel and a welcome to incoming President Shameica Hodge, who is the youngest person to hold this post. She thanked President Samuel and her team for their hard work during the past year. She said there are a number of innovative project ideas for the Rotary Club this year to further the development of the community. She said this is in addition to continuing the support for organisations the Club usually assists. She thanked the partners, sponsors and supporters of Rotary Anguilla and said she looks forward to receiving their support in the new Rotary year as the Club seeks to fulfil this year’s theme “Rotary Opens Opportunities”.

The ceremony featured messages from Incoming District Governor Elect Charles Sealey and District Governor Nominee Louis Wever of Rotary District 7020. The incoming district governor elect and district governor nominee wished President Elect Hodge and her team well in the new Rotary year.

During the evening, that took place at Roy’s Bar and Restaurant at Sandy Ground, a presentation of US $5,000 was made to the Health Authority of Anguilla represented by Minister of Health, Evans McNiel Rogers and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Maeza Demis-Adams. Rogers thanked the Club for the donation and made reference to the long-standing association over the years, including the establishment of the Blood Bank at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
