APANY sends four containers to Anguilla with relief supplies

ANGUILLA–The Anguilla Progressive Association of New York (APANY) has donated relief supplies to Anguilla in two forty-foot and two twenty-foot containers. The first two containers arrived in Anguilla last week and were placed in the care of the Anguilla Rotary Club with assistance from others in the community.

APANY launched its hurricane relief fundraiser on September 11 and as of October 16 had raised US $137,155. The supplies cover four areas – general hurricane relief; education, schools and youth development projects; health care, hospitals and elderly care; and personal causes specified by donors.
APANY Strategic Planner Calvin Bartlett and Webmaster Christina Canzoneri diligently manage the website, as Treasurer Greg Hodge tracks all monetary donations and Public Relations Ambassador Shanice Davis operates APANY’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts, which have served as central sources of traffic to the online fund.
The President of APANY Carlson Connor is thanking all who have participated in the relief efforts and is encouraging continued contributions. APANY has four branches – Brooklyn, New York; Miami, Florida; Washington DC; and Randallstown, Maryland. “APANY remains committed to assisting the citizens of Anguilla in recovering from the massive destruction caused by Hurricane Irma and ensuring that contributions are made with respect, kindness and a sense of integrity that all Anguillians deserve in these difficult times,” he noted.
