Arduin receives royal decoration | THE DAILY HERALD

SIMPSON BAY–Retired Ombudsman Nilda Arduin was conferred as an Officer of the Order of Oranje-Nassau for her service to the country as its first Ombudsman and for her contributions to the office of the Ombudsman on the regional and international level.

 She received the royal decoration from Governor Eugene Holiday at a recent dinner at Simpson Bay Resort celebrating her tenure.

  Words of gratitude, admiration and thanks were extended to Arduin via video tribute from colleagues in the Caribbean Ombudsman Association (CAROA) and International Ombudsman Institute (IOI), other High Councils of State, close friends and bureau staff.  

  Holiday, Parliament Chairwoman Sarah Wescot-Williams and Prime Minister Leona Marlin-Romeo also delivered words of gratitude and thanks to Arduin.

  Arduin expressed her gratitude by calling on every former and present staff member in attendance to personally thank them for their contribution to the Bureau.  

  Arduin also served as CAROA President and IOI board member in her capacity as regional director of the Latin American and Caribbean region.

  The evening ended with dinner and live entertainment by Essynce and Connis Vanterpool.
