EUSTATIUS–Some eighty or more persons travelled from St. Eustatius to Nevis for the 25th annual Agricultural Fair, which was held on Thursday, March 28.
Four boats ferried these persons to Nevis. Also travelling were Deputy Government Commissioner Mervyn Stegers and unit manager of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry LVV Gershon Lopes.
Also present was the Rebels Band HD, who performed at the Fair on the invitation of Nevis Agriculture Department and Eugene Chiverton, better known as the “Man Chevy” or “Bim.”
Rebels Band manager Wayne Spanner said, “I would like to thank the Nevis Agriculture Department for having us to entertain during the fair.”
Stegers said the Nevis officials were “happy” that such a large group of people had come from Statia to participate.
The boats returned to Statia later that same day, loaded up with many fruits, vegetables and other wares that were on sale.
