ANGUILLA–The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) has announced that Gershwin Lake has been appointed as the new Accountant and Jameel Rochester will take up the position of Assistant Manager Destination Experience. Both positions are effective from February 1.
Lake will be responsible for the establishment, management and efficient operations of the financial systems and controls of the ATB. He will cover all accounting needs including the annual budget estimates and quarterly cash balances.
He has worked in financial positions for over 15 years and his latest position was Chief Financial Officer of the Water Corporation of Anguilla. He believes that in his new role he will be able to apply the theoretical and practical knowledge he has acquired to the tourism industry which is of great interest to him. Lake holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the Alabama State University.
Rochester will be responsible for assisting in the development, promotion, and management of the on-island experience, which includes engaging with stakeholders in relation to all elements of Anguilla’s tourism product. His key duties will include participating in the development and implementation of Anguilla’s destination and assisting in public and private sector relations.
He was formerly the Assistant Manager at Four Seasons Resort, Anguilla and also was the Executive Assistant at Zemi Beach Resort. Rochester holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Management Studies from the University of the West Indies and is currently pursuing a Master of Science Degree in General Management Studies from the University of the West Indies. He also holds a certificate year one in Lodging and Hospitality Management, a certificate in Hospitality and Tourism Management in the Caribbean and a certificate in Social Media Marketing.
