PHILIPSBURG–Parliament’s Committee of Country’s Expenditure CLU meets today, Wednesday with the General Audit Chamber about the chamber’s 2017 annual report. Approval of the CLU decision lists to date is also up for approval in the meeting in Parliament House set for 11:00am.
A plenary sitting of Parliament will follow at 3:00pm.
“The Kingdom Charter and right of St. Maarten to a full measure of self-government in compliance with the Charter of the United Nations” is on the agenda. The point was requested by National Alliance (NA) Members of Parliament Silveria Jacobs, William Marlin and Egbert Doran.
Members of Parliament will also handle the advices on the honourable discharge of current Ombudsman Nilda Arduin as per December 31 and the appointment of the new Ombudsman Gwendolien Mossel as of January 2019 as well as the advice on the proposal to introduce regulation for the staff cabinet of the Chairperson of Parliament.
