A large amount of cash was confiscated.
WILLEMSTAD–The six raids held on Tuesday morning in Curaçao were executed by the Kingdom Detective Cooperation Team RST in collaboration with the Defence Ministry in The Hague, the Police Corps Curaçao, the Asset Recovery Team, the Royal Military Police and the Police Corps Aruba. They targeted various homes, mini markets and other business premises. At the same time, two searches were conducted under the leadership of Dutch authorities in a house and mini-market in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The operations took place in the presence of an Examining Judge and Prosecutor.
They detained suspect W. “Micheal” S.C. (36) of Wah Sang Minimarket at Hoenderberg, Montaña. He is suspected of (habitual) money laundering and underground banking.
During the searches documents from the administration and digital files were seized for further investigation. They also confiscated a large amount of money, about NAf. 1 million in cash, along with a number of cars including a Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Corolla, Toyota RAV4, Jeep Cherokee and several real estate properties with a combined value of around NAf. 10 million.
More arrests or other searches in this case dubbed “Avior” are not ruled out by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
